FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

What is a mirror?

A Solana token that stands for a memecoin on another chain. mTOKEN on Solana is backed 1:1 by real TOKEN locked in a Mirror vault on Base. You trade it with your Solana wallet and SOL, at Solana speed.

How is each mirror backed?

Solvers buy the real coin on its home chain, lock it in the vault, and only then mint the same amount of the mirror on Solana. Each mirror will publish its vault balance next to its supply on Solana, with the time of the last attestation.

Do I need a Base, BNB Chain or Ethereum wallet?

No. You only need a Solana wallet and SOL to trade. You give an origin-chain address only if you choose to redeem for the real coin.

How do I get the real coin back?

Burn the mirror and receive the real coin at an address you provide on its home chain, minus a small fee. Or swap the mirror back to SOL instantly in the pool.

Why might the mirror price differ from the origin?

Mirrors trade in their own Solana pools, so prices can briefly drift. When a gap opens, solvers profit by minting or redeeming, which pushes the prices back into line.

Which coins can be mirrored?

Anyone can request one. The bar is low: at least $10K of liquidity on its home chain, it can be sold, no blacklist or pause functions, and a tax of 5% or less. Unverified contracts and concentrated holders only show a warning.

What are the risks?

A mirror carries the full price risk of its origin coin, which can go to zero. On top of that there is cross-chain and custody risk, smart contract risk, and the chance that the mirror price briefly differs from the origin.
